The 2024 TOIL Pinot Noir is a top-notch effort that was stored in a small amount of new French oak prior to bottling. Black truffle shavings and black raspberry notes fill the nose alongside peat moss and shades of rocky soils. The palate is fresh, viscous, and polished as this glides on the mid-palate. Plenty of lip-smacking freshness greets you alongside the concentrated red and dark fruits with earthy accents. A gorgeous bottling in its youth, be sure to give this an hour or two in the decanter if savoring now. Drink 2026-2046

Toil, with its elegant mouthfeel and velvety tannins, is no trouble. Its aromas begin with an earthy note similar to sauteed maitake mushrooms, followed by notes of Bing cherries, honeycomb and fresh-split pine logs. There's a nice bit of acidity here to match up with the wine's rich blackberry, mocha and saline flavors.
