Toil Oregon wines are rooted in the Chehalem Mountains AVA of the picturesque Willamette Valley and artfully crafted alongside our sister winery, FIGGINS, in the beautiful Walla Walla Valley at the base of the Blue Mountains. While Pinot Noir remains the flagship wine, Chris' passion extends to elegantly approachable Chardonnay and patio perfect Rosé. Perched at an ideal elevation of 550-700 feet on a convex hilltop is the Toil Oregon Vineyard. Chris Figgins produced his first vintage of Pinot Noir in 2012, followed by the debut of Chardonnay and Rosé of Pinot Noir in 2016.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

A delicate blush in the glass. Aromatics lift with tea roses, wild strawberries, ruby grapefruit, and a playful hint of bubble gum. The palate is bright and expressive, offering creamy fruit and lively acidity that carries through to a refreshing, mouthwatering finish.

VINTAGE NOTES

The 2025 vintage was about as idyllic as they come. An early, gentle spring brought beautifully even bud break. Precipitation in April and May remained below normal through flowering, resulting in an exceptional fruit set. These full clusters later required selective green harvesting, nearly a third, to bring yields into balance and target top quality. Summer was simply lovely, with even temperatures and steady ripening. Veraison proceeded uniformly across the vineyard. We harvested for Rosé on September 16, followed by all three Pinot Noir clones—Pommard, 115, and Wadenswil—on the 23rd under sunny skies. Chardonnay came a few days later, also at ideal ripeness. The wines are showing remarkable concentration, with the deepest color and most intense aromatics I have seen in the Willamette Valley.
