An amazing edition of this wine, the 2024 TOIL Chardonnay was stored in a small portion of new French oak before bottling. It comes off fresh, heady, and dense. Yellow plum, gardenia flowers, and shades of buttered and baking spice-laced sourdough bread all combine on this complex nose. The palate is elegant and seamless throughout the drinking experience, as the terrific flavor density plays with the mouth-watering acidity and glorious length. This is a big, bold, and delicious Oregon Chardonnay that has a long life ahead of it. Give it about 30 minutes in the decanter if enjoying now. Drink 2026-2038

A brief decant of about 30 minutes helps the 2024 Toil Chardonnay gather itself, though even on opening, it already shows impressive poise. This new release leans into breadth and concentration, with scents of white peach, acacia blossom, sweet cream, and a gentle note of clove, drawn in part from its measured use of new French oak. What stands out most is the way its richness is tempered by a finely cut spine of acidity, carrying the wine across the palate with seamless texture and respected focus. For all its generosity, Toil remains controlled and luminous, a full-bodied Oregon Chardonnay built to reward both present attention and patient cellaring.

Aromas of orchard fruit, vanilla cream, and crushed hazelnuts. The silky palate shows bright flavors of citrus and green apples with warm undertones of toasted spices and poached pears. Drink now.
