Our best expression of the vintage:
The top three barrels
WINEMAKER'S NOTES
The first hint of the
concentration of this wine is the incredibly dark color. Stunning nose of Blue
Mountain wild roses in June, ripe strawberries, and raspberry reduction.
Secondary aromatics reveal blackberries and blueberries over French vanilla ice
cream. The palate is plush with bursts of tart red fruit. The wine has
fantastic acidity and freshness balanced with a seamless, creamy texture and
elegantly long finish. This is the best Pinot I believe we’ve released in our
10-year history.
VINTAGE NOTES
I am calling this the “Miracle
Vintage of 2022.” It featured spring frost and the coolest and wettest spring
that the Willamette Valley has experienced in recent years. It lasted well into
June! The months of September and October were perfectly gorgeous, helping us
to get the crop ripe despite the odds. The acids are amazing in the ’22
vintage, resulting in a lovely, mouth-watering freshness.
